League opportunity for Red Bend players

Three College students have been selected in the NSW Combined Catholic Colleges (NSW CCC) Country Rugby League Under 15s side and are enjoying a development camp this week.

Darcy Leadbitter, Matthew Noakes and Finnley Neilsen were chosen for the side following the NSW CCC State Championships at St Marys in Western Sydney in May.

The boys left for the famous heritage Edmund Rice Retreat at Mulgoa, Penrith on Monday, July 9, where they will spend the rest of the week undertaking intensive training and playing a number of games.

On Tuesday the side travelled to play Canterbury Bankstown at Peter Moore Oval in Belmore, before heading to Wollongong on Thursday to play Illawarra.

Friday, July 13 will be a big day for the team as they play Penrith in the curtain raiser for the Penrith versus Cronulla game at Penrith Park.

The Country team visits NRL clubs and training facilities, NRL HQ Rugby League Museum and participate in an NRL welfare and education session.

The camp concludes on Saturday.
