Garden club meets

Last month (June) Forbes Services  Memorial Club was where the Let’s Do Lunch was  held when the Forbes Horticultural Society and Garden Club hosted Gardening Australia’s president, George Hoad as guest speaker.

Our motto is `Gardening through friendship’, and to use George’s catchcry, `Dig in and celebrate’.  This catchcry was launched by George in 2017.

Thankyous are extended to Tuppy’s committee for organising the entertaining day, and to Elvy and John with their helpers for the table decorations. The gum leaves led to lots of conversation, they were greatly admired.

Remember the Forbes 1st Biennial Spring Flower and Rose Show is on Saturday, October13, 2018 at the Services Memorial Club, trust those entering have been planting their flowers and vegetables, looking after their potted plants, entries in smaller pots please.

This month’s meeting, Tuesday, July 24, will be held at the Forbes Northside Chapel in Johnson Street, 1.30pm, guest speaker will be Zelma Grayson speaking on drying of fruits and vegetables.
