The next Mock Crash will be held in Parkes on August 17 with school students involved in the program beginning pre-work this week.
Ms Suitor spoke to Forbes Shire Council about the program which is for year 10 students across the Forbes, Parkes and Lachlan Shire Councils, last week.
The pre-lesson talks about the licencing system and the statistics before students attend a demonstration which Ms Suitor says “is as close to the real thing without being the real thing”.
Mock Crash starts, Ms Suitor said, with videos and some narration before a curtain is opened revealing a full emergency response to what has happened.
The students then hear of the impacts of a crash six months later.
“Former cast and crew from Mock Crashes will be invited back to this year’s presentation,” Ms Suitor said.
