Invitations to a special lunch on August 25 are going out to ladies living both locally and all over the country, with hopes of finding all those who have worn the sash in previous years or been associated with the competition.
In preparation, we’ve been through the archives to find the Advocate’s photos of those who have worn the sash in previous years.
While we haven’t found everyone, it’s an amazing collection of photos from across the decades.
We, and organisers of the luncheon, would love to see any originals or other photographs that are in your photo albums, if you’d be willing to share them.
You can email Susan Earl or bring photographs in to the Advocate and we will scan them and share them with luncheon organisers.
Grace Allen, 2017 Forbes Showgirl and second runner up at Sydney Royal Easter Show, says there is something special about women celebrating other women; their achievements, successes and endeavours.
“It is with this in mind we’ve planned a gathering for stories, love and laughter …and a common cause: to celebrate the unique and essential role that women play in our rural community,” she said.
Lunch is upstairs at the Golf Club from midday on August 25, an opportunity to listen to some dynamic women, hear their stories and reflections on the Showgirl competition and where it has taken them.
Tickets are available online through eventbrite.com.au
