Central West Bird Club president Alf Watts says there will once again be a remarkable variety of feathered friends on offer, from tiny finches through to macaws. 

“So far we have people coming from Adelaide, Sydney, Newcastle, Victoria, the south coast,” he said.

The sale is a once-a-year opportunity to get some of these birds, from breeding pairs through to pets, in the Central West. 

Organisers expect about 1700-1800 birds to go on sale from 10am on the day, the format of the event is that each is sold by the owner and this has proven a success over the sale’s 20-year history.

Doors at the Showground pavilion open at 10am to buyers, with the sale to continue through to 2pm.

There’s plenty of parking, the Lions Club will have sausage sandwiches and the club will have tea and coffee.
