This month we have two amazing artists appearing at the August Muster. Just recently moved making their home in Bogan Gate, I’m pleased to say that Kate Daniel and Bob Gregory will be appearing Sunday August 12 at the Forbes Services Memorial Club starting at 1pm.
Kate and Bob became members of Forbes Country Music Club six months ago.
Kate Daniel started singing more than 30 years ago, competing in talent quests, performing in club and pub shows, charity shows and festivals. In 1992 Kate joined The Brian Young Show travelling Australia. For a number of years Kate had to step away from performing and has only recently returned in 2016 recording a single, "Harry Bowden...Derelict" with Lindsay Butler Studios in Tamworth. In 2017 Kate was awarded the Barry Thornton Encouragement Award at The Bungendore Country Muster, Stan Coster Memorial Bush Ballad Awards for this recording.
Also in 2017 Kate combined with Bob Gregory and Nev Molloy to record an album. Kate recently received an award for Services To Country Music, by Mal Norton Entertainment Services, Dubbo, NSW. At present Kate is preparing for a solo album release later in the year.
Bob Gregory has been playing lead guitar and singing Australian Bush Ballads for the last 50 years.
In the early 1970's Bob had his own show around the Dalby, Qld area. In 1977 Bob ventured further afield playing lead guitar on a tour with Gavan Arden. In 1979 Bob joined the Rick & Thel Carey Roadshow. Bob has had his own recording studio for more than 20 years. Bob also had a popular radio show on 4DDD, Community Radio in Dalby, and performed in a dance band that played around the Darling Downs region.
After leaving performing for a number of years Bob has returned to it with a renewed enthusiasm. He ventured back into the studio writing and recording with success. In 2017 Bob won the New Talent Award at The Gidgee Coal Awards at Pittsworth, Qld. Then in February 2018 Bob was also awarded the New Talent Award at the Stan Coster Memorial Bush Ballad Awards at Bungendore.
At present Bob is working on a few musical projects in his recording studio and enjoying the challenge.
I sure you will all love listening to these two. Come join us in an afternoon of fun and music. Along with the Forbes Backing Band. Walk ups performers welcome. Admission $7 adult Children under 16 free starts at 1pm
News: We were saddened at the loss of one of our dearest and loyal Life Members, Mrs Dulcie Finn. There weren’t many Musters, Campouts, Festivals or events this lady missed. But she was always there to support not only the Forbes Country Music Club but also Parkes Country Music Club and Pure Country’s at Eugowra. Dulcie became a Life Member last Christmas and was so proud to wear her badge. Forbes & Parkes Members formed a guard of honour while Kevin Spice & Ray Lasserre sang two beautiful songs she loved.
Other members in the Club have been unwell recently, we would like to wish them all a speedy recovery.
