Under the usual format, two separate competitions will be played on Wednesday and Thursday nights over the next ten weeks, starting with round one on August 15 and 16.
Two nights of grading were held last week for new players and those returning after a spell.
The Squash Committee also held a grading meeting Monday night August 13 to determine player rankings and team placements, based on results from grading nights and the last competition.

Veteran’s Golf
Twenty nine veteran golfers from Forbes and Parkes met at the Parkes golf club for their weekly 12 hole competition where Forbes resident but Parkes member Peter Unwin took major honours with 31 points.
Alf Davies from Forbes who is never far away from the trophy table was runner-up with 29 points. Usually good enough to 'collect the chocolates'.
On the other side of the coin Peter Barnes is never in consideration for the Encouragement Award but did so on Thursday with a round he would rather forget.
Nearest the pins, 4th A grade Alf Davies (F), B grade John Dwyer (P), 11th Ron Jackson (P), B grade nil. In the Mick Miller shield, Forbes won again, this time with 151 points to Parkes' 141 points.
Ball sweep to 23 points, 25 points Barry Parker (F), Geoff Drane (F), 24 Garry Collits (F), David Williams (F), Geoff Coles (F), Ron Jackson (P), Richard Hamilton (P), 23 Milton Cartwright (F), Ian Phipps (P), Peter Bristol (P).
Thursday's play will see Lachlan Valley veteran golfers converge on West Wyalong for their monthly 18 hole competition with tee-off at 10am.
A date for veteran, and other golfers, to keep in mind is Sunday August 19 when Parkes will conduct a 4-person ambrose event in support of prostate cancer.
Veteran golfers are also reminded that subs are now due, $10 to the evergreen Linnie Roberts to stay on board to play.
Last Tuesday Viv Russell showed he isn't that far away from weekend competition scoring 32 points to win on a count-back from David Rhodes.
Tuesday 12 holes on again today with ball toss at 9.30am for playing partners and a chance to wish co-organiser Geoff Drane a happy 69th birthday. All welcome.

Croquet
It was an interesting week with two players hitting the big 80 (years). Congratulations to Jeff Liebich and John Job. A birthday lunch was held at the Forbes Bowling Club to celebrate the big day and was attended by 41 members.
John H. Browne did a feat that had never been done on our courts before; he managed two holes in one. There seem to be more players winning all their games with 7 members managing three wins on Tuesday.
They were John Brown, Bruce Field, Merv Langfield, Bob Murray, Kevin Rubie, Bill Scott and Marjorie Styles. This will add some heated competition to the end of year scores.
Saturday’s Aussie Croquet was a windy affair with chairs and tables blowing around the area. One of our players had a senior’s moment turning up with a tennis racquet instead of his croquet mallet.
That made everybody’s day and was the cause of great hilarity. There were three winners of three games, namely John Allegri, Merv Langfield and Lyn Simmonds.
