New to the show is the Ute Barrel Racing where entrants will test themselves against their rivals and the clock to see who can set the fastest time, with competitors racing through a set pattern around five barrels. Forbes Auto Sports Club will also have a mini barrel race on Friday afternoon with motorbikes set to take up the fast-paced challenge. The utes will also take centre stage at the Ute and Car Show will have a wealth of amazing vehicles on display with a variety of categories to enter including Feral Ute, Classic Ute, Best Holden, Best Ford along with Best Original Car.

Of course no show would be complete with the Miss Showgirl and Junior Showgirl/Stockman competitions. This year has already been a great success for the show society who held a special luncheon on August 25 celebrating the past 55 years of Forbes Showgirls. The event was an amazing chance for everyone to catch up and look at how the showgirl competition has evolved throughout the years. This year’s contest has five entrants with the winner to be named at the official show opening at 6pm on Friday.
