A MAN has been charged after a fatal two-vehicle crash in the Central West on Friday evening.

Just before 7pm, a heavy vehicle travelling south and a Mitsubishi Triton travelling north collided on the Newell Highway at Back Creek, approximately 18 kilometres from West Wyalong.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 54-year-old man, died at the scene.
His female passenger, a 52-year-old woman, was taken to West Wyalong Hospital and later airlifted to Wagga Base Hospital suffering critical injuries.
She has since been transferred to St George Hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.
The truck driver, a 26-year-old man, was not injured; however, he was taken to hospital to undergo mandatory blood and urine testing.
Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit attended and commenced inquiries.
Then, at 1.45pm on Saturday, the 26-year-old man attended West Wyalong Police Station.
He was arrested and charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, negligent driving occasioning death, and negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear at West Wyalong Local Court next month.
