Registrations for 2018-19 Little Athletics are now open online, with weekly sessions out at the Botanical Gardens to start after the October school holidays.
Forbes Little Athletics offers running events – the 50 , 100 , 200 metres – shot put, discus, javelin, long jump, and high jump.
They even offer a tiny tots program for children aged three to five that involves skill-based games focussed on fun and participation.
The games let children develop the fundamental skills of running, jumping and throwing in age-appropriate ways.
They might be running and jumping over rope ladders, hoops or hurdles, playing with the big parachute or throwing and catching bean bags.
For those ready to compete, Forbes Little Athletics saw successes from regional to State level last summer.
Go online to www.lansw.com.au to register or go to Forbes Little Athletics on Facebook to find out more about the Forbes club.
You will need to collect your children’s registration number prior to starting, on September 8 or 25, no later than October 9.
Little Athletics runs at the Botanical Gardens every Tuesday evening, arrive 5.45pm for a 6pm start.
It all wraps up about 7.15pm.
You can use the Active Kids voucher to pay for registration, but you do need to apply for this before registering.
