He arrived at the 18th tee, only being one-up after some courageous play by his opponent, Clayton Alley, had kept Andy on his toes with a run of wins for the last few holes.
Clayton had the honour and played his tee shot to the left of the green. Andy stepped up and played his shot directly onto the green.
They both watched as the ball rolled towards the pin, without once veering, and plopped into the hole. This is the ultimate shot in golf.
Andy remarked to Clayton that he, Clayton, needed to chip in to halve the hole!
Despite a good effort Clayton’s ball rolled past and Andy had won the hole, and the match, two-up.
This was Andy’s third Hole-in-One, all being at Forbes. He now only needs to repeat the effort on the first hole to grab his career ‘Forbes Par-three Hole-in-One Crown’. Well done Andy.
