Central West Local Land Services and Landcare have teamed up to roll out a series of free drought support workshops, this time with an emphasis on the health and wellbeing of our farming women.

Taking a day off from farming life to prioritise wellbeing may seem frivolous in the current climate; however the knock-on benefits to the health of individuals, their families and by default that of the broader community have been proven time and time again.
The sessions themselves will focus on creating ways to recharge, manage stress and looking after yourself to be better placed physically and mentally to look after others in these stressful times.
Based on the highly successful ‘Energetic women in the environment’ workshops conducted in Yeoval by Little River Landcare, three events have been organised for Coonabarabran, Tottenham and Bedgerebong on September 24, 25 and 26 respectively, with experienced presenters Rachel Kerin and Narelle Hunter.
The Bedgerabong workshop is on the Wednesday, September 26, from 9.30am to 3pm. The event is free and all catering is provided.
Rachel Kerin, founder of Kerin Physio Co is passionate about helping women achieve a healthy lifestyle.
“The purpose of the workshops is to inspire, empower and educate attendees on ways to maximise their health,” Rachel said.
Narelle Hunter, founder of Blissfully Present is a Mindfulness coach, mother of four, a farmer’s wife of 26 years and well aware of the need to reduce and manage the stresses on a farming family.
“It’s so important to take some time to reflect on our long term health and what we can do today to manage these challenging times, with an inspiring day by day approach,” Narelle said.
By taking the time to reset and focus on themselves, attendees will be better placed to care for others.
