Lithgow and Parkes are predicted to be the wettest regions with 20mm of rain predicted and the chance of a thunderstorm.

Around 10mm of rain is predicted for the day in Bathurst, Dubbo, Forbes, Mudgee, Oberon, Orange and Wellington.

While a top of 5mm is predicted in Cowra, Grenfell and Young.

There is a chance of an afternoon thunderstorm in the Central West, however, there are no current warnings from the Bureau of Meteorology.

There is, however, a sheep graziers warning for cold temperatures, showers and easterly winds that are expected on Wednesday and Thursday in the Central Tablelands.

“There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions,” the warning stated.

October has been a good month for rain so far, with some Central West locations already receiving more than the average monthly rainfall.

It may only be October 10, but Dubbo and Wellington have already received more rain than the monthly average with 62.8mm and 60.2mm respectively in a month that usually sees 45.6mm and 55.7mm in each location.

There has also been good rainfall in Cowra so far this month with 34.6mm (56.3 is the monthly average).
