There was a wonderful coverage to comply with our schedule with the children standing out for their participation, well done to all. There were also some adults who had never entered in the Floral Art and were quite surprised with their success. Hope we see you all entering the next flower show in 2020.
For the children’s entering we have to thank the coordinator of School Vacation Care, Raewyn Molloy, and her helper at Forbes North School, Maree Yapp, along with support from the Bilsborough Family.
The club welcomes any new people interested in entering, makes for a greater display and many great surprises.
Another great surprise was the attendance of Flo Baker, one of our longest members, almost 60 years, starting in 1959 along with husband Keith.
To our sponsors who annually support us, we are very grateful for your association as the above committed members, plus members of the past, have kept this event running over 62 years, this is a great achievement.
To look over the presentation of flowers which have been shown by the usual town and district people, along with the new exhibitors, it is with great admiration as anyone who helped to stage this event should be very thrilled, it is a team effort. Seeing all flowers etc en masse is a beautiful sight to behold.
Thank you to everyone as it takes time therefore we get a top result.
Congratulations to the winners, thank you to the exhibitors, and with sincere thanks to all helpers, it is impossible to name all, many hands relieve the pressure and lighten the load.
Attendees came from town and district, Condobolin, Parkes, Canberra. Many of us were amazed at how many flowers were shown, giving that wonderful picture.
Flower Shows and Open Gardens are now run on alternate years, so next year is the Open Gardens (2019).
There was another splendid showing in each section: A roses, B cut flowers, C bulbs/corms/rhizomes/tubers, D pelargoniums, E shrubs/trees and creepers, F growing plants, G vegetables and fruit, along with H decorative exhibits.
