Cricket Australia hosted a spectacular launch for the junior cricket program, the Woolworths Cricket Blast, last Thursday at the Parkes dish.
The district’s juniors were joined by cricket stars Chris Lynn, Peter Handscomb, Alyssa Healy, Ash Gardner and Nic Carey on The Dish in a rare opportunity to recreate the iconic scene from the film The Dish.
It all gets underway in Forbes this Saturday, with the final call for the five to 10-year-olds to go online to playcricket.com.au and enter Forbes to sign up locally.
There’s something for everyone, under 10s play in a local Forbes competition with Junior Blasters for the five to seven-year-olds, and Master Blasters for the seven to 10-year-olds.
Under 12s, Under 14s and Under 17s play in a combined Forbes Parkes competition.
Family registrations are capped at $200 per family (register your children individually and see the club).
The senior competition also starts this Saturday with games on in the afternoon.
There’s a grand final replay at Trundle, with Trundle meeting the Masterstroke Bowlie side.
Tigers meet VC Reid at Grinsted Oval and Postie has the bye to start their summer campaign the following week.
