The local group is part of the Aussie Backyard Bird Count, which started on Monday.
To be part of it, download the App on your smartphone or go online to register as a counter. The surveys operate until 28 October and provide a snapshot of birds across Australia.
School students are welcome to join Landcare and the National Parks Association Lachlan Valley Branch on Thursday, October 25, at the Dreaming Centre at 3.30pm for a bird walk and activities.
They will be spotting woodland and water birds and checking out the habitats that they live in.
Thursday, 25 October, will be an opportunity for local school students to join us after they finish school at 3.30pm at the Forbes Wiradjuri Cultural Centre for a bird walk and activities.
