There were 176 finalists all up, with each finalist needing to poll at least 50 votes to qualify.

Ian Simpson and Co’s Canowindra branch was presented with a highly commended in the Best New Business.
Bruce Buchanan, who was the MC for the evening, has been the Chairman of the Daroo Awards for the past 19 years and announced his retirement on the night.
Mr Buchanan said the Daroos continued to go from strength-to-strength, with a record field of finalists this year and the largest crowd ever to attend the presentation dinner in the 19-year history of the awards.
Despite battling extreme weather conditions on Friday night, including wind gusts of almost 100kmh, a dust storm and rain storm, the event successfully showcased the range of business enterprises in Cabonne and the quality of the staff they employ.
Mr Buchanan praised all those who had worked so hard to make the awards a special night, particularly members of the Eugowra Events and Tourism Association who did a spectacular job decorating the marquee.
Cabonne Mayor Kevin Beatty made a special presentation to Mr Buchanan and his wife Faye in thanks for their years of service.
Guest speaker was Aaron Brannigan, the Manager of Underground Development at Cadia Valley Operations.
The night’s top honours, overall best business in Cabonne, were awarded to the Canowindra Phoenix.
Other Eugowra businesses and community groups to be named finalists were: Eugowra Quality Meats, Eugowra Progress Association, Eugowra Show Society, Avalind Photography, Cafe 51 and Eat Your Greens.
Many of these were represented, and a total 290 people enjoyed a wonderful dinner catered by Eugowra’s Eat Your Greens.
