Wednesday at One: Washed out again! What a great problem to have.
Mixed pairs: In the mixed pairs Brian and Annette Tisdell had a 23:15 win over Peter and Ann Mackay. It all came down to the final few ends as the Mackays were just in front with six ends to go.
A & B Pairs: The first round of the A & B Pairs will be over by the time you read this. We have Scott Andrews and Barry Wright gone through with a 21:18 win from John Kennedy and John Cutler. Bert Bayley and John Williams also through with a win from Brian Asimus and Sid Morris. Alan Phillips and Fred Vogelsang also contesting the next round after defeating John Stringer and Dennis Byrnes. Lining up for another go we have Grant Lambert and Laurie Crouch after defeating Don Craft and Trevor Currey. Glen Kearney and Paul Baker earned their place in the next round after a 20:17 win against Pater Mackay and John Baass. Also Russell Hodge and Ray Dunstan scraped in ahead of Rob Priest and Daniel Tisdell.
Thursday arvo: A great rollup last Thursday with 26 players including a few visitors. We had John Ashcroft and Billy Adams with a 24:10 win from Merv Langfield and Darryl Griffiths. John Cutler and Tony Bratton defeated John Baass and Pater Mackay. Fred Vogelsang and Lyall Strudwick were too good for Bobby Grant and Peter Hocking. Cliff Nelson and Laurie Crouch had a 30:15 victory against Scott McKellar and Al Phillips. Bill O’Connell and Grant Lambert picked up a nice 24:15 win from Alan Affleck and Don Craft. It was a close game for our Chermside visitors when Jan McMillan, Henry Rann and Viv Russell defeated Max Vincent, Phil McMillan and Wayne Burton. Well played all.
Friday night: Welcome to our Wallerawang visitors last Friday night. They fielded four sides and scored well in the prize money as well. It is on again every Friday night so come along and have a good night out. Names or teams in by 6.30 for a 7pm start.
Moxey Pairs mini-carnival: Again welcome to our friends from Wallerawang. As usual an open draw for partner made for some interesting and friendly games. Team Bert Bayley and Team Cliffy Nelson were both in the finals with Bert and Des Francis from Wallerawang claiming the title for November. Put your name down for the next event on Saturday 15th December.
Sunday morning: Another big turnout of 36 players last Sunday morning. The winner of the Sunday Morning Merritt Trophy was Peter Greenhalgh with Allan Affleck as runner-up.
Playing in the Bentick Cup John Kennedy had a win from Darryl Griffiths and Scott Andrews defeated Lindy Cannon.
