Dozens of locals attended the Love Food, Hate Waste workshop run by the Cancer Council and Netwaste, where the Central West’s own MasterChef spoke about planning the week’s meals and cooking from scratch to both reduce waste and look after your waistline.
There were delicious cooking aromas coming from the venue as Kate cooked up a shakshuka for everyone to taste, then participants made their own flatbread dough to take home and cook.
Cancer Council’s Camilla Thompson shared some of the Cancer Council’s dietary guidelines, including to eat five serves of vegetables and two of fruit each day.
Participants took home some Netwaste resources to help minimise food waste.
