The annual Christmas Tree Festival has attracted an incredible 120 entries, impressing organisers and visitors yet again.

Exhibits ranged from Forbes Machinery’s entry, made out of a full pallet of blue baling, to Trevor Reece’s incredible delicate single piece of umbrella grass.
Usually umbrella grass is piled against fences but this solitary piece was perfect in its execution and caused a lot of comment.
The popular vote competition was won by The Learning Ladder’s giant snowman. This snowman had a 60 year old vintage metal tree as its base, it was covered with fine lights and boasted a top hat.
Jemalong Residential Village won the second place popular vote prize. Their entry took up a full table and featured a miniature farm at Christmas time.

The weekend-long festival was opened on Friday night by Councillor Michele Herbert-Morley.
Organisers were delighted to welcome back previous entrants and see many first timers to the festival as well.

Forbes Hospital's Santa X-ray was a hit with many children. The Forbes Golf and Sportman's Hotel's huge bottle tree filled half the stage and glittered.
Six local schools entered numerous trees, and all of our local early learning centres entered to the delight of the children looking for their handiwork.
Church groups assisted with nativity themed entries.
