Following the success of the Bedgerabong Community Catch Up in November, CatholicCare and St Vincent De Paul have again joined forces to host a free event in the Garema district. Funds were also donated from St Paul’s College in Manly.
This year families from Wirrinya and Garema will celebrate together at the Combined Community Christmas Party and enjoy a slip and slide, dinner, a movie as well as popcorn and treats.
CatholicCare CEO Anne-Marie Mioche said she hopes the event will be a chance for all to relax.
“We are very mindful in smaller communities if an event goes ahead it is usually the parents or a few families organising it, so we thought we would give them a night off,” Ms Mioche said.
“Our staff will cook and cater so the whole family can enjoy a fun family night off.”
CatholicCare staff will organise craft, games and activities for families and after dinner, staff will organise a big screen movie, popcorn and fairyfloss. There will even be a special visitor after 7pm.
“Feedback from the Bedgerabong event was really positive and CatholicCare Wilcannia-Forbes hopes to share the fun with this Christmas Party and other future events commencing in March 2019,” Ms Mioche said.
The party will be provided at no cost by St Vincent De Paul, St Paul’s College, Manly, and CatholicCare Wilcannia-Forbes.
