A house on Bogan Gate Road was ransacked by would-be thieves. Police said offenders had removed a flyscreen and smashed a window to gain access to the house before trashing the rooms.
At time of preparing for print they were waiting on fingerprinting and were unsure what had been stolen.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage of a break-in at the Railway Arts and Tourist Centre on December 29.
An offender has kicked in the back door and entered the property before setting the alarm off and leaving the premises.
A $300 soaker hose and the security camera that covered the area were stolen from a local caravan park on the night of December 27. Police have recovered the hose but not the security camera.
A couple of nights later the contents of the recycling bins at the park, including three wool bags, were stolen.
Curtains and a mirror are among items stolen from a house being renovated in Cedar Crescent.
Police said offenders drilled out locks and let the gas out of an air conditioner.
Someone has attempted to break into a Dawson Street residence, police reported a rear screen door was damaged in the unsuccessful attempt to gain entry.
A man was taken to Canowindra Hospital with facial lacerations after a fight in Eugowra on New Year’s Eve. A police spokesperson said they were to speak to another male in relation to the assault, which occurred shortly after midnight.
Obscenities were painted on a new shed in Union Street on Christmas Eve, and firefighters were called to extinguish a fire in a rubbish bin in Scrivener Street on December 29.
Smashed windows
Police are looking into a series of smashed windows around town.
Four windows on a Toyota van were smashed between December 26 and 28.
Police report someone threw rocks through the windows of the van while it was parked in Wheelong Place.
A flat bed truck parked in Wheelong Place on the afternoon of the 28th also had a window smashed.
This occurred between 4 and 4.30pm and anyone with information can contact Forbes police.
In another incident, an offender has hit a golf ball through the window of a Lachlan Street Council building on the night of December 28.
A brick was thrown through the front window of a house in Forster Street, and another vehicle parked in Crouch Street also had a window broken.
A vehicle parked in Belah Street on Christmas Day had significant scratches when the owner returned to it on Boxing Day.
Truck rolled on highway
A truck driver escaped injury when his truck rolled onto its side on the Newell Highway south of Forbes.
The truck was travelling north at 9.25pm Monday when it tipped onto its side on a bend, a police spokesperson said.
The driver was uninjured although debris was scattered at the scene and the truck was towed away for assessment.
Overall holiday motoring news has been good.
While Traffic and Highway Patrol Command Inspector Ben Macfarlane praised most motorists for driving to the law, many have still been caught doing the wrong thing.
In Western NSW, 850 motorists had been caught speeding in 10 days of Operation Safe Arrival.
Police also issued 64 infringements for drivers or passengers who were not wearing a seatbelt.
In addition, a further 764 infringements were issued to Western NSW motorists for a range of offences (other than speeding).
As of midnight on Sunday, 32,373 breath tests had been conducted across the western region and 27 motorists were found to be over the legal blood alcohol limit.
