“It’s great when clubs in the western region and come together, meet new people and have a relaxed training session together,” Lachlan Dragons coach Chris Favelle said. “We went through some drills and had a couple of bridge-to-bridge races – and also got to see some different pre and post race techniques.”
Colour City Dragons president David Ball agreed.
“Orange, Bathurst, Parkes and Dubbo all have clubs that could get together and build a great dragon boat community in the western region,” he said. “We’re looking forward to doing this more often.”
The Lachlan Dragons continue to paddle throughout the holidays and would encourage more young people, (certainly 12 years and over), to have a go.
The Dragons meet at 5.45pm Thursday and 8.15am Sundays at the shed behind the bowling club.
