The barefoot ski committee made the tough decision to cancel this year’s clinic and competition due to a lack of water in Bundaburrah Creek (where they run coaching clinics) and a clash with other barefoot events.
It’s disappointing, but they are making big plans for 2020.
Mayor Phyllis Miller said she had been contacted by a number of people questioning whether the Lake Forbes Aquatic Centre remained open to water skiiers – and wished to assure people that it does.
The ski dam does still have good water levels and Council is working to upgrade facilities and the beach area over the summer.
