Hundreds of people enjoyed breakfast in Forbes’ town centre on Saturday morning at the second annual Elvis breakfast.

Timed to give the many visitors to Forbes a chance to grab breakfast before the iconic street parade, the breakfast also gives locals a taste of the king of rock ‘n’ roll's music, the fun and fashion of the era.
Elvis tribute artists Che Orton and and Johnny Angel serenaded the crowds with a selection of Elvis favourites as guests enjoyed breakfast down town.
There was dancing in the street as rockers got warmed up for the day ahead.
After the visiting artists took the shuttle bus to Parkes for the street parade, local talent Adam Enslow took to the stage and entertained diners through to lunchtime.
With parts of Templar and Rankin streets closed to traffic for the occasion, there was extra catering on offer from the Lions Club, Sweet Three Vintage Van, Forbes Services Memorial Club van and Sweet Nourishment.
Council made fairy floss and popcorn to add to the retro carnival feel.
Just up the road in Parkes, the Elvis Festival continues to grow and prove a boost to the entire region.
Tens of thousands of visitors have enjoyed the 2019 Elvis Festival, with at least 1200 guests thought to have stayed in Forbes.
Many caught shuttle buses to and from the main festival events, but there was plenty of entertainment for the Elvis fans on offer at our local clubs as well.
And those Forbes locals who headed to Parkes for some of the major events would have spotted some familiar Forbes faces there too.
Kristen’s Dance Studio dancers rock ‘n’ rolled their way down the street in Saturday morning’s street parade, and found Dr Richard Draper in his Elvis costume for a photo opportunity too.
Mitchell Conservatorium teacher and band master James Whalan performed on the main festival stage and impressed the crowds with “You’ll Never Walk Alone” at Sunday morning’s gospel service, which drew thousands of people to Cooke Park.
In some of the festival highlights, Peak Hill’s Erin O’Leary was named Miss Priscilla.
And a 22-year-old from Townsville who started working as an Elvis tribute artist just a couple of years ago has become the youngest person to take out the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist contest.
Brody Finlay will go on to represent Parkes and Australia in the semi-finals of the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest during Elvis Week in Memphis, USA this August.
For the sports fans, the Elvis rugby match took place once again.
The Blue Suede Shoes and the Reddy Teddies had a 51-all draw this year.
