Maybe you think it’s savoury damper that’s unbeatable.
If you fancy yourself a good bush cook, Australia Day is your chance to claim bragging rights in the Forbes CWA damper competition.
This year’s competition has an overall open section, as well as a 12 years and under section and the organisers would love to see some entries from our juniors.
Forbes CWA’s Elaine Bright said dampers need to be delivered to the CWA tent at Australia Day celebration at Lions Park by 5pm.
Judging of the dampers will take place there.
Once again the service clubs’ challenge is on, CWA challenge the Lions Cub.
“Last year the Lions Club won I am sure this year our ladies will be trying hard to win the title back,” Mrs Bright said.
All entrants to have their name and section on the bottom of the plate and please advise the organisers if you want your damper back.
After judging, sliced damper will be passed around the visitors for tasting.
Thanks goes to Forbes Shire Council for organising this special day.
The damper competition is one of many activities on at the Lake-side evening celebrations on Saturday January 26.
More detail on that to come.
