James Patrick Riddle of Calarie Road, Forbes was charged with possessing 10 sachets of an illegally obtained prescription drug.

According to police, they were conducting routine patrols and random breath tests on Friday, September 28.

Around 10:40pm, police stopped a car on Bedgerabong Road for a random breath test. Riddle was in the passenger seat and began a conversation with police about unrelated matters.

Police said they noticed Riddle seemed slightly drug affected and asked if he was under the influence, which Riddle denied and offered to be searched to prove it.

Upon searching Riddle and his property within the car, police found 10 sachets containing Buprenorphine hidden underneath the base of a pizza.

A Forbes woman charged with dishonestly obtaining property and driving with an illicit substance has been placed on a good behaviour bond and disqualified from driving for 6 months.

Stephanie Faye Saunders of Farnell Street, Forbes was charged with two separate offences which took place in September of 2018.

In the police facts, around 10:33am, on September 21, Saunders was stopped on Sherriff Street for a random drug and alcohol test.

The oral fluid test returned a positive reading to methampthetamines.

Police state that when they questioned her she told them she last used two days prior to the event, and uses regularly. 

Saunders was disqualified from driving for 6 months.

During a separate event on September 26, police say Saunders drove into a petrol station in Parkes around 10:18pm, filled up her car and two jerry cans with petrol.

Saunders then packed up her car and drove away without paying for the petrol, which was valued at $118.10.

In the police facts tendered to the court, police say when they attended her property on October 1, she admitted that she had no intention of paying for the fuel as she had no money.

Saunders was put on a section 10a good behaviour bond and ordered to pay the cost of the property to the service station as compensation.
