From next Monday, there will be a change at the helm at Forbes Public School as Dafydd Thomas departs from his role as the school’s Principal.
Mr Thomas will be heading to Orange where he will be working out of the head office in the high performance directorate as a Principal School Leadership Officer.
In this role, Mr Thomas will be working across supporting schools and mentoring other principals across the Orange and Cowra area.
This role will be supporting departmental objectives in leadership and working alongside new and current principals.
Mr Thomas said the staff, students and community have made his time as the principal of Forbes Public for the last five years some of the best years in his career.
“It’s been wonderful to see the school culture go from strength to strength academically, in the sporting realms as well the creative and performing arts," he said.
“It’s been really satisfying as well as encouraging to see the growth in the children."
Mr Thomas said it was also really satisfying to see the strengths coming across in the classroom for children as well as the staff development supporting new initiatives that have been rolled out.
Assistant Principal Nicole Livermore will be taking on the role of Acting Principal until the position is filled.
Mr Thomas said he would be very sorry to go and that it was a fantastic privilege of being a leader at Forbes Public School.
Mr Thomas said he will miss everyone in the school community when he leaves.
