Binaal Billa community Support Worker Kelly Bowden said the event was about raising awareness for family violence and its devastating impacts in Aboriginal communities.
"The Ochre Ribbon symbolises our vision of eliminating family violence in our communities and sends a strong message that violence will not be tolerated against our women, children and men,” she said.
Handing out free cupcakes to the community in Forbes’ central business district gave services an opportunity to raise awareness and discuss what support is available.
Ms Bowden said they would like to thank Forbes Bakehouse for donating cupcakes, Forbes Shire Council for support and Forbes Family Dentist for allowing them to put up stalls out front.
