Located on the family farm between the villages of Cargo and Cudal, in Central NSW, Pete said that Pioneer Brewing Co. and their range of beers are unique given the local and fresh ingredients used to produce his creations. "We grow our own malting grain, harvest it, have it malted and then create beer with it," he said. "Our beers have a fresh and clean finish on the palate which many believe is due to us brewing with rain water caught on farm to brew all our beers with".
The brewery itself took five months to build, from a shed slab through to sending beer out the door, and the accolades are already starting to show for the hard work and effort taken that ensure the quality of their full bodied, flavoursome beers. In the first 6 months of operation Pioneer Brewing received two awards at the Australian International Beer Awards, with Vienna Lager receiving Silver and Amber Ale receiving Bronze. The team also received five Bronze awards at the Australian Independent Beer Awards.
With the only canning line west of the blue mountains and backed by passionate customers and local support, Pete said they are confident in satisfying everyone's tastes. "The craft beer industry is evolving year on year in Australia and we believe our success is down to brewing beers that suit a wide variety of drinkers, from those willing to try an independent craft beer for the first time through to those looking for big, hoppy beers".

For those looking to sample some of Pioneer Brewing's finest creations, Pete said the best option was to get your hands a mixed pack which allows you to try their range without committing to a full case. "It's a great way to sample a few of our beers and try our style," he said. "Here in the Central West drinkers are looking for a style that is flavoursome, refreshing and easy drinking, we believe we have achieved that with our Cargo Gold ‘Golden Ale’ and our Stockman’s Lager".
Pete said what made his brewery and team so special was the fact that they're country people themselves. "We are really proud to be able to produce a product from grain to glass and we love sharing our journey with our local communities here in the Central West".
