This year’s special guest is renowned author, comedian and artist Anh Do.
Mr Do arrived in Australia on an eight-metre fishing boat with 47 other Vietnamese refugees when he was two years old.
At age 30 he held degrees in business and law. Since then he’s won many comedy awards, written an autobiography and appeared on television shows.
Forbes Rugby Club President's Lunch Committee Chair Chris Sweeney said they are pretty excited to welcome him to Forbes.
Bookings are up at this stage and Mr Sweeney believes that they could see as many as 1000 people come down to the annual lunch.
The annual event attracts rugby clubs and people from around the region for good food, good company and a good time.
The President’s Lunch is the rugby union club’s major fundraiser, with a number of community groups also benefiting from the proceeds each year.
The lunch will see the return of the Peter Murphy Foundation which will support locals in need – whether that be for sporting, educational or other purposes.
Organisers have rallied an incredible line-up of auction items to go on offer during the afternoon.
On offer this year is a piece of artwork created by local artist Rosie Johnston as well as a a Wallabies jumper up for auction.
For the foodies, the organisers will be auctioning off a dinner for 10 at Ester restaurant in Sydney and another at Eat Your Greens in Eugowra for the winning tables to go on to enjoy..
Also on offer is a weekend at the Mudgee Gold Cup in the Robert Oatley tent followed by a wine tour and two nights accommodation is expected to be a hot item up auction this year.
The Forbes Rugby President’s 2019 lunch will be on Grinsted / South Circle Oval from midday on Saturday, March 23.
