Oliver Walker and William Moxey will be heading to Japan to compete at the 2019 Kids Rugby World Cup. This Rugby World Cup is held every four years.
William and Oliver are members of the Under 12s thirteen man squad that sets off for Yokohama, Japan on April 16 for a seven day tour.
Nine countries are participating in the Kids Rugby World Cup. They include Japan, Australia, England, Ireland, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Samoa, Scotland and Tonga. The Kids World Cup is a nine-a-side competition and games will be played at Yokohama International Stadium.
The whole trip won't just be about rugby for Oliver and William, as their tour includes cultural activities and sight- seeing.
Both Oliver and William have gone through the junior ranks playing Walla rugby for Forbes and they both play Forbes Under 13s squad.
Oliver said his preferred position on the field is the second row, while William's preferred position on the field is hooker.
A big drawcard for Oliver to play rugby union is that it is a fun sport to play and it has a mental component to the strategies.
"It's a fun sport, you learn new strategies and it's a good game to grow up and play."
William said the big drawcard for the sport was that it promotes building teamwork and allows for him to meet new people.
The two young players were selected as part of the 13-man Australian squad when they trialled for the Central West team.
Oliver said it was a big a surprise when he got the invite to represent Australia, but it is a very big achievement for him.
Being selected to represent Australia World Cup is not without some setbacks according to William - he withdrew from last weekend's rodeo to avoid any risk of injury.
William and Oliver are excitedly looking forward to seeing how the teams from other countries play.
They are very grateful for the support they have received from the Forbes Rugby Club, especially the Forbes Rugby Old Boys who have donated money to help them get to Japan.
Oliver, Will and several other players from the Forbes Junior Rugby Club have been selected to play for the Central West. More to come.
