The men's competition consisted of five divisions; Open, State, A, B, and C. The ladies played over four divisions; Open, A, B and C.
The format mostly involved timed events with a five minute warm up followed by play lasting a gruelling 25 minutes with no breaks.
Two exceptions were the Open grade finals, a best of five sets to 11 points with a margin of two.
The men's final was between top seeds Michael Bolton and David Hunt, Sydney based players and regular entrants in our Open.
Their match was a full, five sets of action packed squash with precision shots and amazing touch strokes a feast for spectators as David won the first set 11-7. Michael returned fire and quickly tied it to one set all. Mike then lost set three 9-11 but surged ahead in the fourth taking that 11-2.
The final set was tight. It was five points all but two errors by Dave gave Mike the opening he needed and he pulled away winning the fifth set 11 points to 7.
Ladies Open final winner was Georgie Lane of Dunedoo with Tracey Taylor of Grenfell runner up.
Georgie was in form and played deep, keeping Tracey well back while placing shorter shots in front. Final scores were 11-9, 11-0, 11-8.
