Sally, as a zone representative, was one of 13 local showgirls who landed in Sydney on Tuesday this week.
They had the very special duty of delivering showbags to some deserving kids in the Children's Hospital at Westmead, and have a busy schedule.
Friday is judging day at Sydney Royal and the Showgirls will be touring the show, visiting district exhibits and meeting with judges and dignitaries. The overall Sydney Royal Showgirl will be announced on Sunday.
Sally is a local dairy farmer, daughter of Cheryl and Paul Downie, currently working as the council's drought coordinator, and has a passion for rural mental health.
As a Rural Achiever, Sam will also have a behind-the-scenes Sydney Royal experience this week.
Sam is the son of Gary and Rosie Johnston and is co-founder of the social media campaign Thank a Farmer for Your Next Meal.
