Marco Carelli, from the Forbes Cycling Club, said this money was raised by the Forbes Flatland Cyclo Sportif during last year's event.
Mr Carelli said they wanted to donate the money left over from running the event to a local charity.
Can Assist helps with the cost of travel, accommodation and medication for people undergoing cancer treatment. On average they provide up to $8000 a month in assistance, for fuel, accommodation or chemist bills, to local families.
John Schrader, from Can Assist, said the donation was absolutely brilliant and they really appreciate gestures such as this.

The Forbes Flatland Cyclo Sportif is an annual event which attracts cyclists from around the region to compete across two distance events.
The cycling event will take place on May 19, where cyclists will hit the road from Forbes Aquatic Centre to compete in a 120km ride or a 72km ride.
Registration costs $60 for the 72km and $70 for the 120km.
There's an extra $12 charge for non-Cycling Australia licence holders to cover insurance for the ride.
Mr Carelli said the event is not for profit and proceeds raised from the event to a community group.
