Irinka Lizzy booked a berth in the rich race with a second in her semi-final at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.
Smith is one of the top trainers in the western area and his Forbes kennels have produced Group 1 success in the past.
Irinka Lizzy ran from box two on Saturday night and she'll be wearing the black and white rugby again in the final.
She's a promising starter in her prime, having amassed more than $35,000 in winnings with eight wins, nine seconds and a third from just 20 starts.
Smith is realistic about her chances in greyhound racing's richest race, but as he says, "you never know your luck in a big city".
"She just needs to jump well and get onto the fence," he said.
She will need early speed, which she has, but the favourites have got real pace.
The spot in the final continues another fine run of form for Smith.
The leading Forbes trainer will also have Little Digger going from box two in Saturday's Group 1 Association Cup, and Feral Franky will start from box one in the Group 3 New Sensation.
Feral Franky starts as the favourite: only a young dog, he's had five wins and seven seconds from his 16 starts.
