Paul and Jan Ormsby's Boer goats have swept the junior classes at Sydney Royal Easter Show.
The Forbes stud's 2019 Sydney Royal campaign got off to an impressive start on day one with objective measurement classes.
These are a forerunner to the traditional show classes: over about four hours trios of young goats are scanned, measured and weighed.
Weight is given to the judge's visual assessment, but 75 per cent of the score comes from the crunching of the numbers, the Ormsbys explained.
Their trio of young does won their championship, and one of their young does was chosen as the day's best overall exhibit.
The 11-month old doe went on to star in the next day's show classes, named Champion Doe Kid and then Champion Kid when stood against the Champion Buck Kid - another Mugambi winner.
Owner Paul Ormsby said it was a real thrill to see the young doe take out both types of competition.
"We bred for the show, and we only got the three doe kids, so to get them to where we did means a fair bit to us," he said.
They were also delighted to claim champion and reserve in the kid buck sections.
It's reward for months of show preparation: the Ormsbys have now been breeding Boer goats for 19 years and their Sydney show team selection traditionally starts Christmas afternoon.
They have learned a lot since they first entered the field, and have watched the industry grow.
They now export all over the world: flying live animals as well as embryos to nations including New Zealand, New Caledonia, China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Germany, Brazil and Mexico to become breeding stock.
Most recently, they've added Nepal as an export market.
"A lot of countries have started to look for exports," Mr Ormsby said. "The industry has certainly grown."
The Mugambi bloodlines are in demand all over the world, he added, and that's thanks in no small part to their Sydney Royal success over many years.
The Ormsbys' focus now turns to preparing for their national show, in Orange on May 25 and 26.
