Forbes Shire Council is bringing back bonfire night: a chance to relax fireside by the water under a canopy of stars.
But it will also offer so much more: food, wine, Indigenous culture, and an amazing line up of live music.
Local talent, Lily Gaffaney will perform alongside Young Monks from Canberra.
The night's headline act, Lior, recently achieved international acclaim and played with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Sydney Opera House.
He is currently touring Australia, heading to the US in November.
Forbes' own Aboriginal dance troupe, Yarangirri, will be performing as will the roving fire artists, with dragon boats and their drummers rowing by just on dusk.
Fire displays, including the unveiling and lighting of a huge effigy will keep the crowd warm. Rumor has it there may even be snow!
Floating wish candles will be available to launch on lagoon with funds raised from the sale of each candle going towards the Australian Lions Foundation Drought Appeal.
Forbes Shire Council says the event is designed to attract visitors to Forbes and boost the visitor economy.
The plan is to make it an annual event, but it's particularly hoped that visitors will come to town for this first amazing evening.
"For a rural town like many others, Forbes Shire is battling the drought, and it is hoped visitors from near and far will get on board to support the event and the local community," Mayor Phyllis Miller said.
"Visitors to Forbes are encouraged to stay around for another night or two and enjoy all that amazing Forbes has to offer.
"A coffee down the street, a tank of fuel from the servo or a new jumper from one of Forbes boutique stores will all boost the local economy and create ripple effects for the whole community.
"It is the visitors to town like Forbes that help keep the community functioning. A small spend in a rural community has a far reaching benefit."
The night wouldn't be complete without tasting the beautiful food of the area and there will be many food vendors on hand.
A chip on a stick, grilled barbecue or burger fare or some homestyle, traditional winter warming favourites will be on offer.
Warming wines and other alcoholic beverages as well as coffee and hot chocolate will be available to pair with sweet treats.
Organisers are also working to reduce the environmental impact of the event.
All drinks will be served in branded reusable cups from Bettercup and Grazing Down the Lachlan water tanks will be on site for refills and freshen-ups.
The wish candles are bio degradable and eco-friendly.
Food vendors will be using recycle packaging wherever possible and the bins provided around the site will be available for recycling.
