Reports are coming in that by Saturday, localised snow will fall around the Ski Dam area, adding to the fanfare expected of the Frost and Fire Festival - a Forbes Shire Council media release revealed on Thursday.
Organisers have confirmed a large snow machine will be operating at the Festival which will ensure the children will be entertained along with the new playground area recently installed by Council.
Gates will open at 4pm at the Forbes Ski Dam.
Festival-goers will be directed to the marked entry point off Bedgerabong Road where parking is available.
Disabled parking entry is via the usual Ski Dam entry point.
The impressive line-up for the Festival starts with local acts Lilly Gaffney and Georgia Sideris.
"Not only will the entertainment be on stage but throughout the audience as well," Forbes Shire Mayor Phyllis Miller said.
"Fire performers and dancers from Kristen's Dance Studio, will bring the entertainment into the crowds for a show I cannot wait to see."
The Lachlan Dragons dragon boats will be rowing by on the water at dusk, the River Spirit Dance Group will be performing their welcome to country and have been given the honours of lighting the main bonfire.
"Several fire buckets will be placed around to keep all of the festival goers warm for the impressive line up of artists," Mayor Miller explains.
"It will include the large 'Fire-ball' from Aussie Fire Buckets, which always looks amazing and keeps us all toasty."
Young Monks from Canberra, recently brought into the headlines by Triple J unearthed, will kick off the event.
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Lior will headline the event. He is currently touring the country before heading over to the USA in November.
The event is strictly no BYO.
"We have some amazing food vendors coming and there are bar facilities available inside the event," Mayor Miller said.
"The entry is free and festival goers can come and go as they please. But I'm sure when you are in you won't want to leave in case you miss something!"
Throughout the evening, you will be able to purchase floating wish candles to set afloat on the lagoon, with proceeds to the Australian Lions drought appeal.
