Forbes High School walked away in ninth place at the annual championships at Raymond Terrace Bowling Club from June 11-13.
PDHPE teacher Justin Hoy said It was a well deserved result for Forbes High School.
"Despite their inexperience in the game of lawn bowls the boys demonstrated great skill and a calm temperament under pressure to achieve a fantastic result," he said.
Mr Hoy said the tournament was the first time the boys had played on a synthetic surface and in an undercover playing arena.
Forbes High School drew a particularly strong pool with Camden High School, Hunter Sports High School and Epping Boys High School.
Connor, Jack and Toby went up against Camden High School first and a poor first end put them on the back foot.
Despite winning half the remaining ends they were unable to bridge the gap against the Camden High School team, who went on to claim first place.
Forbes High School were narrowly beaten by Hunter Sports High School after taking an early lead. Some great drives from the Hunter Sports skipper, with his fair share of luck, were able to knock away any well-positioned shots from the Forbes team.
Still, Connor, Jack and Toby were able to finish out the first day of competition on a high note, with a convincing win of 15-7 against Epping Boys High School.
On the final day Forbes was matched against the Riverina combined team and Great Lakes High School to play for 9th-12th placings.
Mr Hoy said despite a poor start and being down 9-2 after five ends against the Riverina combined team, they were able finish with 14-10 in a come from behind victory.
In their final match against Great Lakes High School, Mr Hoy said the boys dominated the match from the beginning, winning 24-3.
"Forbes High School would like to thank all those that supported the players, from parents to community members and local businesses," he said.
Mr Hoy said thanks also goes to Greg from Gunns Mensland for his support of the team.
Mr Hoy is hopeful to see a repeat of the result and sportsmanship next year.
