The fishing pontoon is designed to make fishing accessible for everyone in Forbes, with a ramp to access it from the lake pathway.
It has been installed with the support of NSW Department of Primary Industries thanks to grant funds focussed on improving accessibility to fishing facilities in NSW, a council spokesperson said.
The project will ensure locals and visitors with limited mobility can also enjoy fishing in Lake Forbes.
It's good news, say local fishing club representatives Gavin Montgomery and Andrew Barrass from the Lachlan Valley Fishing Club and OzFish Unlimited.
They work to improve fishing and fishing habitats, doing everything from stocking rivers to cleaning out rubbish.

They'd love to see the lake better stocked with native fish, but it does need more permanent structures for shelter.
Installation of the fishing platform is one part of the works planned for Lions Park, with drainage works in coming weeks.
