The Year 5 debating team is so far undefeated in the Kerri Parkes Western Debating Challenge.

Tilly Townsend, Steph Vonthien, Matilda Stitt, Maddie Burbage and Heidi Fairley defeated Parkes Public School in their last debate.

Adjudicators Wynn Sideris, Emma Northam commended the team for their strong team thread, the final speaker's rebuttals and conclusion.

Forbes Public has entered Year 5 and 6 teams in this year's competition after winning in 2018 with Andie Hodder, Isla Worland, Scarlett Francis and Katie Crouch.

Debating resumes after the holidays. The Year 6 Team's topic is arguing the affirmative in "Swimming lessons should be free" while Year 5 has a bye.
