EUGOWRA GOLDEN EAGLES
Eugowra Golden Eagles travelled to Peak Hill last Sunday where they were defeated. Although they suffered a heavy loss they never gave up and are to be congratulated on their determination and effort.
The Geagles played their best game of the year and were only beaten 18-14.
This Sunday Eugowra will host Manildra on the Ian Walsh football field with the Geagles to play at 12-40 and the first grade at 2-00pm.
Eugowra supporters are urged to get behind their team and to give the players heaps of encouragement.
EVENING VIEW
Members of Eugowra Evening VIEW Club enjoyed a tasty Chinese luncheon at the Eugowra Bowls and Recreation Club on Sunday to mark the occasion of their 11th birthday. Sadly numbers were well down on what they have had over previous years but it was lovely to welcome members of the Parkes Evening and Parkes Day VIEW Clubs for the occasion.
Vice President Ester Hyde welcomed members and guests. Following the meal a number of the 'many prizes' was conducted.
Judy Smith (being the oldest local member present) was given the honour of cutting the special birthday cake. Made and decorated by 'Annette's Cakes', the orange poppy seed cake was decorated in a fire theme in shades of orange, black and red.
Fire and flames was the theme for the occasion with members dressing in red, orange, black and yellow shades.
The birthday cake was served with ice cream as the dessert to finish the meal with tea and coffee.
Then a fun 'sing-s-long' by the ladies was the lead up to the remainder of the 'many prizes' being drawn and also the drawing of the raffle prizes and lucky chair.
We recently said good-bye to our secretary Jen Marshall, who, along with her partner Richard Bevan has returned to their home state of Queensland.
Jen and Richard enjoyed a special morning tea with a number of VIEW members at Montrose House in Canowindra on the Sunday prior to their departure.
The August VIEW dinner will be held at the Central Hotel on Monday 19th at 6-30 pm for 7-00pm with a special local guest speaker.
