The Magpies have spent the week gearing up for a tough round of footy against the Spacemen at this Sunday's semi-final match.
The Magpies will be hoping for a repeat of last year when, under the same circumstances, they beat Parkes 42-16 in the minor semi-final.
Coming off last weekend's loss to the Spacemen, Magpies coach Cameron Greenhalgh said the spent the week regrouping.
Greenhalgh said they are treating the finals series as a whole new competition and will be playing to stay alive in the finals.
"We're looking to put in a solid effort, if we don't it's the end of our season," he said.
Greenhalgh said last weekend's miserable weather was no excuse for their 40-30 loss, but they won't have bad weather to blame for this weekend.
We're looking to put in a solid effort, if we don't it's the end of our season.
- Cameron Greenhalgh
This weekend's forecast is proving to be better for the Magpies when they travel over to Pioneer Oval with Parkes forecast to have a mostly sunny day with a top of 22 degrees on Sunday.
With no injuries coming into the semi-final match against the Spacemen, Greenhalgh is confident they will put in a better performance.
The Magpies league tag team will be joining the first grade in heading to Parkes this weekend for a rematch after a 12-8 win in tough conditions against the Spacecats.
Forbes finished second on the ladder, four points behind Dubbo CYMS and one point ahead of the Parkes Spacecats.
After last weekend's win against Parkes, the young Magpies finished the regular season in first place.
They now head to Wellington to take on the Cowboys, who have finished the regular season in third place on the ladder.
The reserve grade will also be heading to Wellington this weekend to take on Dubbo CYMS.
