This year we celebrated our Country of Study for 2019 with a very festive luncheon. We welcomed our guest speaker Debra Ridley, visitors from other branches and friends of members.
We sat down to beautifully decorated tables in the colour of Papua New Guinea's flag. Place mats with the Australian national anthem on one side and the PNG anthem on the other side, along with a handmade brooch of a PNG bird were on the tables.
The International Doll all ready for competition was presented in PNG national dress. Many thanks to Dawn for such a huge input to making this day a huge success.
Lunch consisted of chicken stew, sweet potato and rice followed by sago with bananas, mango and coconut.
Debra, our guest speaker, brought many artifacts from PNG along with her stories and slide show which made a very interesting presentation,. We all enjoyed the presentation which gave us insight to life in PNG.
Anne Reade gave a talk on why we collect coins for friendship which is always done on International Day.
