NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) agronomist Rohan Brill said the Optimised Canola Profitability Roadshow draws on five years of ground-breaking research to best manage crops.
"In the last five years we have delved into what drives canola production in central western NSW and growing regions across the country," Mr Brill said.
"With a focus on answering questions which will really make a dollar difference we will discuss optimum flowering times, matching sowing dates and variety to flower on time and critical growth periods for canola.
"We want to help growers optimise harvest timing through improved maturity assessment to get a full return on their investment and discuss the agronomic tactics which will improve canola production," Mr Brill said.
"Intensive phenology and physiology research can now deliver important information for the industry, agronomists and growers, to ensure profitability in canola production."
The Grains Research and Development Corporation Optimised Canola Profitability Roadshow will be presented by NSW DPI and CSIRO researchers from 9.30am until 3pm.
