Aussie Croquet Saturday, September 14th
We saw the Rubies bring some more family members Terry and Ross Rubie to play croquet and with great coaches like Kevin and Jill they soon learned the games skills.
Only one winner of three games today was Tony Thomson. The closest games played were by Tony Thomson and Jill Rubie 14 against Jeff Liebich and Doreen Rogers 13 with Kevin Rubie and Dorelle Scott 14 against Joan Littlejohn and John MacCullagh 12. We hope to see Harley and Ann back this week as we believe they have arrived home after their travels.
Ladies Bowls
After all the cold weather that's been hanging around it was really nice to have a pleasant morning for bowls last Wednesday so I have been told but, if you thought it was cold here, well you should have been in Albury.
I've never felt so cold all year as what I felt down there. Pleased to be home again. Anyway, on to business. Eighteen ladies rolled up for social bowls where three games of triples were played.
- Jan Waugh, Robyn Mattiske and Jenny Currey defeated Pam Stevens, Lesley Dunstan and Ann Mackay in a nail biter 16/15.
- Colleen Liebich, Noela Girot and Angela Dent defeated Judy Girot, Lyn Elliott and Anne Nixon 24/6.
- Loris Stewart, Colleen Dean and Pat Markey defeated Kay Toohey, Lynne Willding and Alice Allen in another close game 15/11.
The winners for the day were Loris, Colleen and Pat and Judy Girot won the Raffle. Well done girls.
It was lovely to see Anne Nixon back after a long spell and Anne Walker came along and had a short roll up with our ever obliging secretary Sandra Priest.
Birthday wishes this week go to Dawyn Harvey for the 20th and Glenys Ryan for the 23rd. Teams for the Jones Shield have been selected and names are up on the board.
Please check to see if you have been chosen and if you are unable to play let the Bowls Committee know as soon as possible. Social bowls will be on again tomorrow so don't forget to phone your name in before 9.30am for a 10am start. Good Bowling everyone.

Carlisles lost 13 points to 21 against W Bils. Ben Barnard lost to Penny Carlisle 0-3, Al Carlisle beat Angus Webb 3-0 and Marcus Hardy lost to Bradman Hardy 0-3.
No team position changes resulted so next weeks has W Bils versus Carlisles and Coombs versus Hemmings which is a repeat performance.
Thursday Night's results had no effect on team places either despite some significant differences in score margins, so the same teams will line up next week also.
Sharpes defeated Millers 18-10 where Kyle lost to Lockey 0-3, Jack Gordon beat Graham Coombs 3-1, Henry Kross beat Sam Mackay 3-0 and Alex Jones beat sub Dan Suringa 3-0.
Pipers had a solid win over Krosses with Darryn leading the way against Jay 3-1, Scott Webb beat Graham Coombs 3-0 followed by Dennis Haynes losing to Jono Cannon 2-3.

Next weeks Semis and Finals will be a culmination of a tough Comp, where on both nights several teams held dominant positions throughout but only time will tell which of these dominant teams will claim the title of Winter Comp Champs. All teams are encouraged to come along and have a hit.
Netball
The Forbes Netball Spring night competitions for both mixed and ladies teams is now in full swing, with some great games of netball being played. Players are enjoying their games with spectators seeing lots of fun on the courts. Unfortunately, some of the games last week will be forfeits, as some of the players have not paid their full registration.
The registration includes both the online registration to NNSW and FNA plus the $40 competition levy per player per competition. Players who are already registered, can pay the $40 competition levy, in cash, at the office on Wednesday night. A list of teams that have forfeited games last week, will be available at the office on Wednesday night.
Players who are not fully registered by Wednesday night will not be allowed to play this week. Anyone needing help with online registration should contact Registrar Paige through the Secretary email.
All team representatives are asked to please update the team nomination forms, as players are registering, and are not on any team nominations.
Monthly meeting: Thursday September 19 at 7pm at the Forbes Services Memorial Club. Agenda items must be emailed to Secretary Melissa on email secretary.forbesnetball@gmail.com

Also playing in Forbes last Thursday were a group of Sydney men golfers in town to play last weekend's Parkes Open tournament.
Best of all came news that they felt the course (especially the greens) were well above expectations especially during these dry times.

Noms from 9.30am for a 10am shot gun start. Thursday week play will be over 12 holes in Parkes.
