Canoe slalom athlete Jessica Fox, who took out the 2018 Female Athlete of the Year prize, is in the running to go back-to-back, being shortlisted alongside para-alpine super combined world champion Perrine (with sighted guide Bobbi Kelly), swimmer Cate Campbell, freestyle skier Jakara Anthony and rowers Georgina Rowe and Leah Saunders.

Freestyle skier Matthew Graham is also in contention to claim his second straight Male Athlete of the Year award - with Tom Burton (sailing), Sean Murphy (rowing), Ben Tudhope (para-snowboard cross), James Willett (shooting) and Matthew Wilson (swimming) providing his competition.

Tim Anderson (canoe slalom), Rohan Browning (athletics), Noemie Fox (canoe slalom), Harriet Hudson (rowing) and James Matheson (winter sports) are in the running for the University of Sydney Academic Excellence award, while Jo Brigden-Jones (canoe sprint), Sam Fricker (diving), Matthew Graham (winter sports), Nicholas Hough (athletics) and Kaarle McCulloch (cycling) are the five shortlisted for the Personal Excellence award.

Ian Thorpe AM Outstanding Achievement award will go to either Jon Bell (swimming), Bronte Campbell (swimming), Lauren Parker (triathlon), Tiffany Thomas Kane (swimming) or Lea Yanitsas (water polo), as Tim Brand (hockey), Will Cooley and Rebecca Hancock (sailing), Archie Cropley and Max Paul (sailing), John Trovas (cycling) and Ben Tudhope (winter sports) are Junior Athlete of the Year nominees.

Canoe slalom, diving, swimming, water polo (women) and winter sports are finalists for the Program of the Year category, with Simon Cusack (swimming), Myriam Fox (canoe slalom), Adam Kable (swimming), Peter McNiel (winter sports) and Rebecca Rippon (water polo - women) recognised as Coach of the Year contenders.
