Forbes captain Mitchell Bailey is hopeful for the win against the tough Parkes team when they take to the pitch.
Bailey says facing Parkes on their home turf is always tough, especially with some tough players on their roster.
However, Bailey is confident that Forbes will be able to wrest the Cup from Parkes if they play to their abilities.
The two teams will contest the Cup under lights at Woodward Park with the first innings beginning at 2pm.
Since not many of the Forbes lineup have played under lights previously, Bailey said they would like to bat first up.
Although it will be a new experience for several team members, Bailey said there are also several who have performed well in training or in previous matches.
Among them include bowler Mark Simmonds, who Bailey said is bowling well in training and Trundle's Adam Hill who has some experience facing off against tough opponents during his time as captain of Trundle's footy team.
Grinsted Cup veterans Matt Roylance and Jayme Sherritt will also make a return this week, which will provide a boost in experience.
Forbes' lineup for this Saturday includes: M. Bailey, A. Hall, C. Greenhalgh, T Hurford, S Neville, J. Nicholson, J. Reid, M. Roylance, J. Sherritt, M. Simmonds and L. Watt.
Prior to the commencement of the opening match of this season, the centenary of the Grinsted Cup will be celebrated from 1pm with a lunch.
