Police beat: garden ornaments seized, domestic violence charges laid

A Forbes man has been refused bail by the court after being arrested on numerous domestic violence-related charges.

Police arrested the man this week, a police spokesperson said.

Charges include domestic violence assault occasioning actual bodily harm, trespass, breach apprehended violence order and stealing, police said.

He was refused bail in Condobolin, to face Parkes court later this month.

Police have seized garden ornaments including gnomes, sculptures and bird baths from a Flint Street address.

A police spokesperson said they attended the location on Thursday morning and found a large quantity of garden ornaments as well as a jerry can and toolbox.

Police are investigating the matter and urge anyone who has had items like this stolen to contact Forbes police on 6853 9999 or attend the station with a description.

Offenders have gained access to the house and rear shed of a Ferry Street premises in a break and enter.

A police spokesperson said they were investigating, there had been damage done and items stolen before the resident disturbed the offenders and they left the scene.

A black shoulder bag has been lost after being left at a Church street premises.

The purse contained the usual personal contents and anyone who finds it is urged to take it to Forbes police so they can return it to the owner.
